Soil Science Society of America Proceedings

Beginning with the current issue, the Proceedings will appear as a quarterly journal. The volume numbers will continue in the series with the former annual volumes, but in making the change the year 1951 will be omitted from the series. In its new form, the Proceedings will contain papers presented at the annual meetings of the Society, but it will bring to its readers other papers besides those presented at the Society meetings, short notes on soils, current news items about soils affairs, book reviews, and other matters of interest. The new form must of necessity forego one or two of the important advantages inherent in the annual volume of previous years. Other advantages of more frequent publication, however, promise to make the Proceedings of more service to its readers in the years ahead. The new form is highly adaptable to the needs and resources of the Society. Thus there is assurance that as the affairs of the Society grow, the new quarterly will grow with them into an ever more valuable medium in the field which it represents.
