ABSTRACT
A method is described for the determination of exchangeable Mg in soils containing dolomite. It is based on the low solubility of the mineral in 1 N NaAc of pH 8.2. Magnesium in the NaAc extract is titrated with ethylenediaminetetraacetate after removal of Ca as the oxalate. The positive error owing to the dissolving of dolomite was found to be approximately 0.75 me. per 100 gm.
