ABSTRACT
Kaila and Virtanen found that in most of the soils they analyzed for organic phosphorus they obtained a higher figure with an extraction method they proposed than with the extraction method proposed earlier by Mehta and coworkers. Analyses of samples of five soils by the authors showed that the Mehta method yielded more organic phosphorus than the Kaila-Virtanen method in all five samples.
