ABSTRACT
Optical, X-ray diffraction, infrared absorption, and differential thermal analysis data are presented for the salts K3Al5H6 (PO4)8·18H2O, (NH4)3Al5H6(PO4)3·18H2O, (NH4)2AlH(PO4)2·4H2O, NH4AlPO4OH·2H2O, and NH4AlPO4OH·3H2O. Where the particle size is too small for determination of optical characteristics, a combination of X-ray diffraction and infrared absorption methods is the most satisfactory means of identification of these compounds. Differential thermal analysis is unsuitable for the ammonium salts.
