A Technique for Rapid and Precise Positioning of Neutron Depth Probes1

N. A. MacGillivray and Irving Goldberg2

ABSTRACT

A device is described which replaces the standard cable clamp used for positioning of neutron depth probes. With the technique developed, positioning is accomplished by suspending he probe from brass stops affixed to the cable.

Several years experience have demonstrated this technique to be entirely satisfactory, resulting in improvement in precision of probe positioning, as well as in a considerable saving of time.
