ABSTRACT
A modification is proposed for the Mehta et al. organic phosphorus determination for soils high in free iron where a strong interference by the dissolved iron occurs in the colorimetric determination of total and inorganic phosphorus. This interference can be eliminated by passing the extracts through a strong acid cation exchange resin which removes the interfering ions.
