ABSTRACT
DDT was sprayed at two rates on a gravelly forest soil. Periodic leachate collections from tension lysimeters placed under the forest floor and surface soil have been analyzed by gas chromatography. Only five micrograms/dm2 DDT leached through surface soil, independent of rates of application. This represented less than 1% of applied DDT, indicating a highly sensitive technique.
