ABSTRACT
A welding technique is described for making improved themocouples for use in Peltier-type thermocouple psychrometers. Junctions welded using this technique are compared with a commercial welded thermocouple and soldered thermocouples. Thermocouples produced (i) are more stable than soldered junctions, (ii) have greater range and sensitivity than available commercial welded thermocouples, and (iii) are more uniform in response than soldered junctions.
