ABSTRACT
A colorimetric, semiquantitative test for soil salinity is described based on the equivalent release of yellow CrO4 ion upon reaction of Cl and SO4 with slightly soluble Ag2CrO4 and SrCrO4, respectively, to form less soluble AgCl and SrSO4.
