Effect of Ion-Pair Formation on the Solubility Product1

ABSTRACT

Two treatments of electrolyte solutions in which ion-pair formation occurs are possible: one as a strong electrolyte, the other as a weak electrolyte. It is demonstrated, however, that the value of a solubility product is independent of the method of treatment.
