ABSTRACT
A solid-state digital programmer was developed to drive a Heinrich miniature probe attachment for an X-ray emission spectrograph. This allowed the automated operation of the X-ray emission spectrograph during analysis of transects in a variety of studies such as: clay films associated with ionic diffusion, ionic distribution in plant tissue, etc.
