Fig. 6. Measured and predicted breakthrough curves for the transport of B in column Series-B simulated under pulse injection conditions. Observed data points were taken from Fig. 5a (solid circles), and from Fig. 5b (open circles). Predictions were made using Pe = 41, and average values for the isotherm parameters bm = 15.10 mg kg–1 and k = 0.061 L mg–1 of Table 4. A pulse durations T· = 4.31 and T· = 5.8 were used to simulate the input B concentrations of 5 mg L–1 and 1 mg L–1, respectively.
