This issue's cover: Kärkevagge, a glaciated valley north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. View looking south from about the middle of the valley. Profusion of large boulders gives the valley its name "Boulder Valley". Soils are Haploturbels on the summits and Dystrocryepts on ridge tops in the distance, Cryorthents on the colluvial deposits among the boulders on the valley side slopes, and Cryofluvents and Cryaquents on the lower gentle slope and on the flood plain of Kärkejokk, the stream that drains in the valley. See Darmody et al., "Soils and Landscapes of Kärkevagge, Swedish Lapland", p. 1455-1466.
